Golfclub Westerwolde

Groningen, Netherlands

Golfclub Westerwolde is a 9-hole golf course located in De Barlage near Vlagtwedde in the Westerwolde region of East Groningen, Netherlands. The course was designed by renowned golf architect Joan Dudok van Heel and opened in 2002, marking his final design project across his 50 European courses. The layout is compact and relatively short at 2,468 meters from the yellow tees, yet presents genuine challenges for all handicap levels. The signature hole is the par 4 first hole, a short but difficult design featuring water hazards and an island green. Set within the scenic landscape of Westerwolde, the course offers an engaging playing experience in a picturesque setting. Golfclub Westerwolde emphasizes enjoyment and camaraderie among its members and welcomes guest players. The club offers periodic introductory clinics for those new to golf and provides lessons through its golf professional. The facility maintains an accessible, low-threshold membership approach while hosting various competitive and social events throughout the year.
