Friday Scrambles is a weekly 3- or 4-person scramble competition held at Island Country Club. Participants must be at least 16 years old. The entry fee is $5 per person, and visitors also need to pay the 9-hole greens fee. Sign-up can be done in advance at the club house or by calling (207) 348-2379. Non-members should call before 5 pm on Thursday to be added to the list. Registration begins at 8:45 am, with the scramble starting at 9:00 am. The $5 entry fee must be paid in exact cash change only, while the greens fee can be paid by credit card or cash. Members receive signup instructions via email.

Island Country Club is a historic golf and tennis facility celebrating its 97th year in 2025, located on scenic Deer Isle in coastal Maine. The course features an expanded 9-hole layout spanning approximately 2,400 yards with a par of 34, designed to challenge experienced golfers while remaining accessible to all skill levels and families. Originally designed by Wayne Stiles in 1926, the course officially opened in 1932. A major 2009 renovation by Forbes Golf Design added four new holes and a par-5, introducing modern amenities including irrigated fairways and greens. The course is characterized by rolling greens, strategic bunkers, and fescue-covered mounds that define its signature holes. Set near the sea on one of Maine's most precious coastal islands, the course offers first-call, first-served tee times for members and visitors. The property also features three newly resurfaced clay courts recognized as among the peninsula's finest. The clubhouse provides comfortable amenities including a fireplace, porches with mountain views, a pro shop, and beverage service, making it a complete leisure destination.
