The Eclectic is the main competition of the day, with the Index (handicap-indexed play) being optional for those who wish to participate. The event is open to all age groups and starts at 08:30. Entries close on the day of the event at 12:30. This is a public competition at Pau Golf Club, open to all licensed golfers.

Pau Golf Club is the oldest golf course on the European continent, established in 1856 in Billère, near the château de Pau and along the banks of the gave de Pau river. It was the first course designed in continental Europe and the fourth golf club worldwide outside Great Britain, following Charleston (1786), Calcutta (1829), and Bombay (1842). Located in the distinctive "saligue" landscape—a Béarnaise term for the marshy vegetation typical of the gave de Pau—the course is set within a protected wetland environment rich in biodiversity and migratory bird populations. The club's Victorian-style clubhouse reflects its strong Anglo-Saxon heritage, shaped by early British and later American communities. The course itself is described as unique and meticulously maintained by recognized professionals. The club operates with approximately 700 members and has developed a strong competitive tradition, fostering young talent through its PGC Academy. Notable for its integration with local sporting culture, Pau Golf Club has contributed significantly to the city's reputation as "Pau, Queen of Sports." The facility includes dining options, a pro shop, and event hosting capabilities, combining historic heritage with contemporary golf amenities.
