The Grand Prix de Pau is a four-day individual strokeplay competition held at Pau Golf Club from July 30 to August 2, 2026. The event features separate Men's and Ladies' series with a cut after 36 holes (two rounds), retaining the top 75 players combined. Men's series is open to players with a handicap index of 4.4 or lower, while the Ladies' series requires an index of 8.4 or lower. Entry fees are €130 for adults, €65 for club members and young licensed players aged 19-24, and €50 for juniors aged 18 and under. Entries close on July 16, 2026, at midnight. A total prize fund of €2,000 is awarded to the top three finishers in each gender category (€500, €350, €150). The event is open to both French and international amateur golfers who hold a valid FFGolf license (or equivalent foreign federation license) and meet the amateur status requirements. A traditional cocktail reception is held on August 1 after the cut, with prize-giving on August 2. Registration is open via reception, email, or phone.

Pau Golf Club is the oldest golf course on the European continent, established in 1856 in Billère, near the château de Pau and along the banks of the gave de Pau river. It was the first course designed in continental Europe and the fourth golf club worldwide outside Great Britain, following Charleston (1786), Calcutta (1829), and Bombay (1842). Located in the distinctive "saligue" landscape—a Béarnaise term for the marshy vegetation typical of the gave de Pau—the course is set within a protected wetland environment rich in biodiversity and migratory bird populations. The club's Victorian-style clubhouse reflects its strong Anglo-Saxon heritage, shaped by early British and later American communities. The course itself is described as unique and meticulously maintained by recognized professionals. The club operates with approximately 700 members and has developed a strong competitive tradition, fostering young talent through its PGC Academy. Notable for its integration with local sporting culture, Pau Golf Club has contributed significantly to the city's reputation as "Pau, Queen of Sports." The facility includes dining options, a pro shop, and event hosting capabilities, combining historic heritage with contemporary golf amenities.
