Couples League 2026

The 2026 Lida Greens Couples League is a series of nine-hole golf events held on Sunday evenings at Lida Greens Golf Course in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. The league runs on the following dates: May 31, June 14 and 28, July 12 and 26, August 16 and 30, and September 1, 13, and 27. Players meet at 4:30 PM with play starting at 5:00 PM. The event is open to any interested couples, including male-female, male-male, and female-female pairings; participants do not need to be married or romantically involved. Visiting couples and friends are welcome. There is no requirement to attend every event, and no handicap is required. The standard format is scramble (best ball of two), where after each shot the next shot is played from the best of the two shots, and each player must use a drive at least once. On June 28, July 26, August 30, and September 27, the format changes to Best Ball, where each player plays their own ball and the couple's score for the hole is the best individual score. A shotgun start is used with two couples per hole. Each night is its own event with winners determined for that night only. Cash awards are available for closest to the pin, longest drive (men and women categories), and low score for the couple. On Best Ball nights, additional awards include low individual score (men and women) and longest putt. The entry fee is $38.00 per couple, which includes a golf cart. Members pay only $6.00 per person for the cart. An additional $3.00 per person is charged for nightly cash prizes. Mulligans are available for $2.00 per night, with proceeds going to prize money. On the Best Ball dates (June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27), a potluck dinner follows the golf, with burgers, brats, or meat provided by Lida Greens Golf Course and attendees invited to bring appetizers, salads, or desserts.
