The GKGA Summer Shootout is a one-day team event held at Marshall Country Club on August 1, 2026, with tee times starting at 8:00 am. The format is an 18-hole team competition consisting of the front nine played as a scramble and the back nine as a shamble (both players tee off on each hole; both players play from the best tee shot, and both players' scores count). Entry fee is $140 per team, with carts included. Teams can consist of any age; players play from age-appropriate tees (Under 50 from the forward tees, 50-69 one set back, 70 and over two sets back). There is a 4-Closest-to-the-Pins contest with one division. An optional skins game is available for $20 per team. Entry is open to all — you do not need to be a member of the Greater Kalamazoo Golf Association to participate. Registration opens approximately 4 weeks before the event and closes at 6pm on the Monday before the tournament. Entry is made online via the GKGA website. Prizes are gift cards for the host course, calculated based on the number of entrants in each division. The GKGA follows USGA rules and current Michigan Health Department regulations.
