Friday Open Singles is a weekly individual stableford competition held at Ennis Golf Club on Fridays, starting from 3rd April each week. The event is open to both gents and ladies. Entry fee is €30 for visitors and €7 for members. Each weekly winner automatically qualifies for the Grand Final in October, where they compete for a PowaKaddy electric trolley. The competition is sponsored by Martin Ward Golf Ltd. Players may play in groups of four. Tee times can be booked in advance via the club's online visitor booking system, and early booking is encouraged due to strong interest. Yellow tees for men and red tees for ladies. Normal GUI/ILGU dress code applies (no denims, shorts, or football/rugby tops). Spikes are permitted. A handicap of 28 or less (men) or 36 or less (ladies) is required, or an equivalent standard if no official handicap is held.
