36-hole scratch medal strokeplay tournament and qualifying event for the Surrey County Golf Union Order of Merit. Open to male amateurs with an active playing handicap of 9.0 or lower who are members of an affiliated golf club. Minimum age 16 on the day of the event. Entries limited to 54 players. In the event of entries being oversubscribed, a ballot will be held for the lowest handicaps. Closing date for entries: 11th September 2026. Refunds are only given for withdrawals made at least 7 days before the event. The club reserves the right to refuse entry. Includes coffee and breakfast roll on arrival, one-course lunch, and sandwiches and chips before prize giving. To qualify for a prize, the player must be present at the prize giving. In the event of a tie for the Downs Trophy (best gross score), a sudden-death play-off takes place on the 1st hole; if there is insufficient light, the winner is decided by countback. All other ties are decided by countback over the last 18, 9, 6, and 3 holes. No player may win more than one prize.
