The Junior Open is an 18-hole individual strokeplay (Medal) competition held at Sherwood Forest Golf Club, Eakring Road, Mansfield, on Friday 21 August 2026. Open to both men and women with a Handicap Index of 24.0 or below. Men play from the White tees; ladies from the Red tees. Playing handicap is calculated at 95% of course handicap, with ladies receiving one additional shot applied after this calculation. Entry closes at 9:00am on 7 August 2026. In the event of a tie, the winner is decided by countback over the last 9 holes, then 6, then 3, then 1 hole as calculated via the IG system. All entrants must be members of an affiliated golf club and hold a CDH number — iGolf (independent golfer) handicaps are not accepted. Entrants must also have submitted at least 3 qualifying competition cards in the previous 12 months. The club reserves the right to withhold prizes from competitors whose Handicap Index does not meet the required criteria, and to accept or refuse any entry. All players must register at the Golf Shop on arrival. Entry fee: £24.00 per visitor, £12.50 per club member. No refund within 14 days of the event.

Sherwood Forest Golf Club is a prestigious heathland course located in the East Midlands near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, situated within Clipstone Woods of the legendary Sherwood Forest. As a championship venue, Sherwood Forest has hosted numerous prestigious national competitions, including the 2006 England Boy's Amateur Stroke Play Championships, British and English Seniors championships, regional Open Championship qualifying, the Brabazon Trophy, and the 2022 McGregor Trophy. The club received the England Golf Championship venue of the year award in 2023, testament to its standing as a premier championship course.
