Lakeview Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole municipal facility located in Mitchell, South Dakota, designed to challenge golfers of all skill levels while remaining enjoyable for recreational play. The course is situated in a landscape enhanced by strategic tree plantings that create exceptional fall colors and scenic beauty throughout the grounds. The course emphasizes balanced difficulty, described as "challenging, not punishing," with well-maintained tees, fairways, and greens that have earned a reputation for top-quality playing conditions. Lakeview has undergone continuous improvements over the past two decades to enhance the golfing experience. Notable amenities include a recently expanded driving range completed in 2001, measuring over 200 yards wide and 300 yards long with variable target distances. A full-service clubhouse offers rental equipment, food and beverage services, and shower facilities. In 2024, the course completed Phase 2 of its improvement program, with plans underway to add a 5-hole short course by 2026. The facility is known for offering quality golf at reasonable rates and serves golfers from across South Dakota and beyond. The course hosts various tournaments, leagues, and special events throughout the year.
