The course emphasizes balanced difficulty, described as "challenging, not punishing," with well-maintained tees, fairways, and greens that have earned a reputation for top-quality playing conditions. Lakeview has undergone continuous improvements over the past two decades to enhance the golfing experience. Notable amenities include a recently expanded driving range completed in 2001, measuring over 200 yards wide and 300 yards long with variable target distances. A full-service clubhouse offers rental equipment, food and beverage services, and shower facilities. In 2024, the course completed Phase 2 of its improvement program, with plans underway to add a 5-hole short course by 2026. The facility is known for offering quality golf at reasonable rates and serves golfers from across South Dakota and beyond.
