June has been a very busy month in the engine room at Open Golf Events. We now have our own AI box to do all the heavy lifting which means we aren't limited by the expense of all the requests that were previously sent off to Claude. This has allowed us to be far more thorough in checking events, and adding new features. Every event on our database is now double-checked at least once a month, and then more frequently as we approach the date. This allows us to pick up on changes such as cancellations, event full etc.
We've added support for signup opening and closing dates, and are beginning to tag events that are good for scratch golfers - either because they are scratch events or because they have a prize for best gross score etc. Search tools for that will become available once we've rescanned all events and checked the data.
We also now handle max handicaps separately for men and ladies, and have tidied up the classification of competitions in terms of format (individual/pairs/team), scoring (stableford/strokeplay/bogey/par) and variant (betterball/foursomes/greensomes/scramble/bowmaker etc).
