Many years ago I owned a small apartment on a golf course in Murcia in Spain, and would visit for a week at a time, often on my own. With a bit of googling, I found a couple of the local clubs had societies that ran on different days, so I was able to join them rather than playing on my own. It's my hope that this website will allow golfers going on vacation/holiday to find both competitions run by Clubs and Tours, and also local societies that play regularly in the area. So when the wife says bring your clubs on holiday, you won't be billy-no-mates out there, but will have competitions or just friendly local groups to play with.
To hopefully make this a reality, we allow all users to create a Society page. A Society can be a number of things, including:
- An Annual Charity Golf Day.
- A society that plays various courses throughout the year.
- A society based at a golf club.
- A regular golf members roll-up.
The only thing we ask is that you accept guests. To create your Society, go to Tours & Societies and click on 'Add Society'. There's even an explanatory video to help guide you through it.
