Rounds: 1

The Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) is one of the largest regional golf associations in the United States, serving golfers across the greater Chicago metropolitan area and northern Illinois. Founded in 1914, the CDGA administers the Rules of Golf, provides handicap services, and organises a broad calendar of amateur competitions open to golfers of varying skill levels. Member clubs span the full geographic reach of the Chicago area, from the city's suburbs to the Wisconsin border. The CDGA tournament schedule includes events for men, women, juniors, and seniors, covering a range of formats including stroke play, match play, and team competitions. Notable annual championships include the CDGA Amateur, the Mid-Amateur, the Senior Amateur, and several age-group championships. Qualifying rounds are typically held at member courses across the region, with finals contested at some of the area's most prestigious venues. Most open events require a USGA Handicap Index and CDGA membership or affiliation through a member club. Golfers competing in CDGA events benefit from well-organised tournaments conducted under strict Rules of Golf, with proper course rating and handicap conditions in place. The association also manages course ratings and slope ratings for member clubs, ensuring competitive equity across events. Entry fees vary by event, and fields can be competitive, particularly at the stroke play championships where participants include some of the strongest amateur golfers in the Midwest.
