Orbost Golf Course

Victoria

Orbost Golf Club was established in 1906 as the Snowy River Golf Club, originally played on private land near the Snowy River banks. Following flooding issues, the course relocated to its present site on the edge of town, where it initially shared land with the local Race Club and Show Society before acquiring full ownership. The course layout has remained relatively consistent since its relocation, with only minor modifications over the decades. A significant recent change involved removing pine plantations that had become established features of the course, as their root systems caused machinery damage and posed safety hazards to staff and golfers. The club accommodates touring golfers with caravans, provided they are self-contained. While the clubhouse opens on competition days, meal service is not available on-site.
