Golf Zibatá

Querétaro

Golf Zibatá is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in the Valle de Amazcala in Mexico, designed by Carter Morrish and Rafael Alarcón. The course spans 7,491 yards from the tees, with a total playing surface area of 7,563 yards. The layout features a modern design that balances challenge with accessibility, incorporating three lakes that harmonize with the natural environment. The terrain offers views of the valley from every hole, set against a backdrop of impressive skies and incomparable nature. The course is distinguished by its "open concept," being the first golf course in Mexico to welcome the general public rather than restricting access to private club members. It is equipped with 6 kilometers of cart paths and drainage ditches to manage water during storms. The facility includes a practice area with a 330-yard driving range, five target greens, and four 600-square-meter platforms. Additional practice amenities include an approach area up to 30 yards, a green approach, a bunker practice area, and a putting green. Golf Zibatá utilizes four types of grass: Rye Grass, Bentgrass A1, Festuca, and Klein Grass. The course is staffed by two professional golfers who monitor the grounds and provide instruction through an academy equipped with JC Video technology and cameras. The facility also offers a pro shop, a golf cart service, a cart bar, and a restaurant with a terrace serving gourmet food. The course has received significant recognition, winning the award for Best Golf Course in Latin America in 2014 from The International Property Awards in London. The concept was inspired by founder José Oleszcovski, who sought to create a high-quality public golf experience. The design team included Carter Morrish from Chicago and Rafael Alarcón, known for his work as the last coach of professional golfer Lorena Ochoa.
