Located in the Miras microdistrict of Almaty, Kazakhstan, Zhailjau Golf Resort is an 18-hole championship course set within an 82-hectare landscape. The layout was designed by Palmer Course Design Co, bringing the signature of golf legend Arnold Palmer to Central Asia. The terrain is characterized by views of the surrounding mountains and features five artificial lakes alongside the channels of man-made mountain rivers. The resort has planted over 15,000 trees to frame the course, which is recognized as one of the premier golf facilities in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The course is built to championship standards, utilizing specific grass varieties for its playing surfaces. The greens are planted with Penkross Bentgrass, while the fairways feature Kentucky Bluegrass. The layout includes various water hazards marked by yellow and red stakes, as well as general areas of repair marked in blue. The course is designed to offer a challenging experience for both professional and amateur players, with each hole offering distinct characteristics and views. Zhailjau Golf Resort hosts a variety of golfing events, ranging from local competitions to international tournaments. The facility is equipped to handle major events, having hosted or prepared for tournaments such as the 2024 STAYSURE PGA Seniors Championship and the 2024 LIV Golf Miami event. The resort adheres to the rules of the R&A and the United States Golf Association, providing a regulated environment for competitive play. The resort complex includes a clubhouse with conference facilities and a hotel, supporting its status as a comprehensive golf destination.
