Yangon Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located 12 miles north of Yangon in the Danyingon area of Myanmar. Playing at 7,094 yards from the men's tees, it offers a substantial test for golfers of varying abilities. The course is set in a landscape typical of Myanmar's terrain, providing a pleasant playing environment.
Established in 1909, Yangon Golf Club is one of Asia's oldest golf courses, founded by British expatriates during the colonial era. Originally, the club operated two courses—the current 18-hole layout at Danyingon and a 9-hole course on Pyay Road (established 1893). The club transitioned from exclusively European membership to becoming Myanmar's premier golf facility following independence in 1948, with its first Burmese captain appointed in 1954.
The club operates as a non-profit organization, distinguishing itself from commercial golf enterprises. Modern facilities include recently upgraded maintenance equipment and an expanding fleet of buggies to enhance the playing experience. The course remains a significant recreational facility in Myanmar, welcoming both local and international players.
