Yangon Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in Danyingon, approximately 12 miles north of Yangon city center in Myanmar. The course stretches 7,094 yards from the men's tees, offering a substantial test of golf skill.
Established in 1909 by British expatriates during the colonial period, the club maintains a rich historical heritage. Originally, the club operated two courses—an 18-hole layout at the current Danyingon location and a 9-hole course on Pyay Road (now People's Park), which traces its origins to 1893.
The course is set within a landscape typical of Myanmar's terrain, providing a challenging playing experience. Yangon Golf Club operates as a non-profit organization, with membership that cannot be bought or sold, distinguishing it from commercial golf enterprises elsewhere. The club has transitioned from its exclusively European membership base to an inclusive facility, with U Cho becoming the first Burmese captain in 1954, reflecting Myanmar's independence.
The facility continues to invest in course maintenance and member amenities, having recently acquired modern equipment such as a Toro Reelmaster 5500D for greens management. The club welcomes both local and international players with tiered green fees.
