Wood River Golf

Wood River Golf is an 18-hole, par 69 course located along the Wood River in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. Established in 2000 by the Thompson Family, it offers an affordable public golf experience with open play available year-round without requiring tee times.

The course features an unusual layout with 11 holes on the front and 7 holes on the back, allowing flexible play options. Players can walk 11 holes for $17 or play all 18 holes for $25 walking, with gas cart rentals available. The course operates during fall and winter weather permitting, and maintains league play from late April through August with evening matches Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Wood River Golf is part of the GHIN handicap system and has completed slope and rating certification through the RIGA. The facility accommodates tournament play and league competitions while maintaining public access. A frequent player program offers discounted rates through punch cards. The setting along the Wood River provides a scenic Rhode Island landscape, and the course is known for providing accessible, casual golf suitable for various skill levels.
