Sahm Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-70 layout located on the northeast side of Indianapolis near Castleton Mall, just off I-465 and Allisonville Road. Originally named North Eastway by the city, the course was designed in 1963 by renowned architect Pete Dye as one of his early significant works, following his nine-hole design at El Dorado and preceding his 18-hole design for Michigan University.
The course features a tree-lined layout with large, well-manicured greens that emphasize putting and chipping skills. The terrain and design present moderate difficulty, requiring precision rather than length from golfers of various abilities. The course has been consistently maintained and improved over decades, with long-time management dedicating itself to establishing Sahm as one of Indianapolis's premier public golf facilities.
Amenities include a full driving range, PGA staff instruction, and food and beverage services. The course hosts outings and leagues throughout the season, making it a community-focused facility that combines championship design heritage with accessible public play.
