White Bear Yacht Club

White Bear Yacht Club's golf course features 18 holes across rolling terrain in a scenic setting northeast of the Twin Cities on the shores of White Bear Lake. The course was developed in two phases, with the first nine holes opening in 1912 and the second nine added shortly thereafter. The layout is characterized by awesome rolling topography that creates an engaging and challenging playing experience.

The course has a distinguished history shaped by notable golf professionals and players. Tom Vardon, brother of six-time British Open Champion Harry Vardon, served as one of the original Golf Professionals from 1916 to 1937. Jimmy Johnston, a Minnesota native and six-time Walker Cup participant, grew up playing at the club and achieved significant success, including winning the U.S. Amateur in 1929 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. The course maintains excellent conditions and is recognized for its fun, hilly terrain that provides both scenic beauty and strategic challenge to golfers of varying skill levels.
