Watertown Golf Club is a private members-only golf course located in Connecticut's lower Litchfield County. The course has an interesting evolutionary history, originally established in 1898 as a nine-hole course on the estate of Horace Taft, founder of The Taft School. In 1915, it was relocated to the school grounds and formally established as Watertown Golf Club. The course expanded to 18 holes in 1931 with the addition of a second nine holes and clubhouse constructed north of the original layout. Between 1971 and 1973, nine additional holes were developed through rolling hills north of the property and across West Road, after the original nine holes were converted to athletic fields by the Taft School. The current configuration features 27 holes total across scenic, rolling terrain. The club maintains a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere and offers dining facilities including a Grill Room, covered patio, and banquet facilities. The property features a full-service golf shop, locker rooms, and bag storage for members.
