Walden Ponds Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course located in Hamilton, Ohio, situated conveniently between Dayton and Cincinnati. The course was designed by Michael Hurdzan and is set on a historic estate originally built in 1831 by Joseph Hough, a Hamilton merchant. The property later became the summer retreat of Gordon Soho Rentschler, a prominent industrialist and banker who served as president and CEO of Citibank in the late 1920s.
The course name draws inspiration from Henry David Thoreau's famous essay "Walden Pond." Walden Ponds operates as both a championship golf course and wedding venue, offering memberships and public tee times. The facility includes a practice facility with a driving range and practice greens. The course is situated on well-maintained grounds that reflect its estate heritage, combining the historic landscape with modern golf course amenities. Winter hours operate weather-dependent from 9 AM to 4 PM daily.
