The course is designed to evoke the style of classic golf courses from the turn of the 20th century, drawing inspiration from historic layouts such as National Golf Links, Fishers Island, Maidstone, Chicago Golf Club, and Garden City. The design philosophy emphasizes a natural aesthetic, with fairways following the original terrain and preserving existing trees to create a landscape that feels organic and integrated with its surroundings. A defining characteristic of the course is the juxtaposition of natural topography with distinctively artificial features. The design incorporates geometric and irregular mounding, deep bunkers, and square greenside traps that reflect the architectural trends of early 20th-century golf.
