Victoria Golf Course is Canada's oldest city-run course, first developed in 1896 before Edmonton's official founding. Located in the river valley off River Valley Road, the course offers fairways and greens designed to be relatively forgiving, making it ideal for beginners and mid-handicap players. The course benefits from a prime river valley setting that provides scenic views of the Alberta Legislature and University of Alberta buildings as a backdrop. Victoria Golf Course features both a full 18-hole course and a driving range facility. The course operates seasonally, with tee times available up to seven days in advance. In addition to public play, Victoria hosts several active golf clubs and leagues, including men's, senior men's, business ladies, and day ladies divisions, which occupy reserved weekly tee times. The facility also includes the Greenhouse Restaurant and offers PGA professional golf lessons, making it a comprehensive recreational golf destination in Edmonton.
