Varadero Golf Club is Cuba's only 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course, opened in 1999. Designed by Canadian architect Les Furber of Golf Design Services LTD, the course uniquely combines three distinct design philosophies: Classic design, Challenging/Target Golf design, and Links design. Located on a narrow 3.5-kilometer strip between several major hotels, the course integrates resort properties while maintaining its own identity.

The course serves as the centerpiece of the Xanadu Mansion complex, a historic 1930s estate originally built for French-American businessman Irénée du Pont, former chairman of the DuPont Company. This architectural landmark now functions as the clubhouse and boutique hotel, featuring seven balconies with panoramic ocean and golf course views. The property combines golfing facilities with fine dining, bars, and cigar lounges, all within the meticulously restored mansion. The course offers full facilities and equipment for golfers of varying skill levels, providing both a challenging competitive experience and recreational play opportunities for visitors to Cuba's only 18-hole golf destination.
