Turtle Run Course at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club opened in 1999 and was designed by Charles Ankrom. The 18-hole course measures 6,500 yards with a par of 72, a course rating of 71.5, and a slope rating of 130. Located at 5223 Sun Lake Boulevard in Sebring, Florida, the course was built in the middle of a Scrub Jay Preservation Area, providing a sanctuary for protected birds and a natural setting.
Ankrom's design tests a golfer's accuracy and ability, featuring narrow landing zones, many moguls and deep sand traps set up for challenging greens. The greens are Tiftdwarf Bermuda grass, while the fairways and roughs feature 419 Bermuda grass. The signature hole is the par-5 14th at 481 yards, where a stream crosses the fairway about 250 yards out, and golfers must avoid a large bunker in the front left of the elevated green.
Sun 'N Lake is home to two championship courses and has hosted the PGA Canadian Tour's USA Qualifying Tournament, with both courses voted #1 in playability and challenge year after year. The course is open to the public.
