The Tournament Course at Golf Club of Houston is an 18-hole championship course stretching 7,422 yards with a par of 72. Located in Humble, Texas just minutes from downtown Houston, the course was designed by Rees Jones with player consultant David Toms. The course features multi-tiered green complexes, strategic bunker placement, and numerous water hazards throughout the layout. Bermuda grass fairways and greens are finely groomed and maintained to championship standards, with the course being overseeded with rye and bentgrass to simulate Augusta National conditioning.
The Tournament Course is one of the few public-access courses in the United States that hosts a PGA Tour event. It has served as the host venue for the Houston Open, one of the longest-running tournaments on the professional circuit. The course is situated on a 900-acre property characterized by natural beauty, featuring native cypress, live oak, and pine trees along with native wildlife. The layout challenges players with a combination of water carries, fairway bunkers, and undulating greens while maintaining playability for golfers of varying skill levels.
The course is notable for being open to the public and offering daily-fee access, providing golfers an opportunity to play on a professional tournament venue. Its maintained pristine conditions and strategic design make it one of the premier golf destinations in the Houston area and across Texas.
