Timber Creek Golf Club is a 27-hole golf facility situated on 316 acres of heavy woods in Friendswood, Texas, on the southern outskirts of Houston. Designed by Jay Riviere, the course was carved from dense Oak and Pine forest, creating a distinctive aesthetic unlike other courses in the Houston area. The designers moved one million cubic yards of dirt to establish rolling terrain reminiscent of South Carolina, and constructed 13 bridges to span Clear Creek, which winds throughout the layout. Strategic rock outcroppings enhance the natural landscape.
The course presents a wooded, challenging environment with lush fairways bordered by tall trees. The 6,500-square-foot clubhouse includes a well-stocked pro shop, restaurant/bar, locker rooms with showers, and a 200-seat open-air pavilion with grill facilities. The facility features a lit driving range for evening practice and instruction from PGA professionals. The combination of water hazards, elevation changes, and dense vegetation creates a moderately difficult course suited for various skill levels, with the natural beauty and strategic design making it a notable destination in the Houston golf community.
