Thomson Country Club

Thomson Country Club is an 18-hole private golf course located in North Reading, Massachusetts, designed by renowned architect Geoffrey Cornish. The course is a challenging par 72 known for its tight fairways and large, tricky greens, with each hole presenting distinct character and unique challenges. The layout features beautifully maintained grounds set within easy access to major residential areas via Routes 93, 95, 114, 62, and 1.

The course exemplifies Cornish's design philosophy, offering strategic play that rewards precision off the tee and careful approach work. Thomson Country Club maintains an active tournament program with events scheduled throughout the season. The club was originally founded in 1910 as a social club for General Electric engineers in Nahant before relocating to its current North Reading location in 1963. Recent improvements include an upgraded electric golf cart fleet, enhanced cart paths, and selective tree removal to improve turf conditions. The facility also features the Grill Room restaurant with dining, bar service, and a deck overlooking the 18th green, alongside a junior golf league program.
