The Welcombe Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70 parkland course measuring 6,288 yards from the back tees (course rating 73.1, slope 126), set within 157 acres of rolling Warwickshire countryside on Warwick Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, adjacent to the Grade II listed neo-Jacobean Welcombe Hotel, built in 1866.

The layout is notably unusual in its par distribution, comprising three par fives and five par threes across the 18 holes — an uncommon configuration that gives the course a distinctive character despite its moderate length. The terrain is significantly undulating, providing elevated tee shots with panoramic views across the Welcombe Hills and plentiful sloping lies throughout the round. Lakes feature on several holes, adding strategic and visual interest. The course is described as deceptively long relative to its yardage, owing to the hillier terrain and the number of uphill holes.

The signature hole is the par-5 16th, measuring over 500 yards uphill with a narrow tee shot, water left, and extensive bunkering that challenges even the longest hitters. The par-4 12th plays steeply downhill, offering a genuine birdie opportunity, while the par-4 17th doglegs right from a tee adjacent to the hotel building. The course hosted the European Seniors Tour Ryder Event in 1998. The hotel, which operates the course under the Hallmark Hotels brand, provides accommodation, spa facilities, and clubhouse dining.
