The Golf Club at Rainmakers

Course Information Unclaimed

The Golf Club at Rainmakers is an 18-hole championship course designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones II, situated in the high mountains of Alto, New Mexico at an elevation exceeding 7,000 feet. Spanning 7,110 yards, the course winds through protected lands framed by natural rock outcroppings and meandering arroyos, offering panoramic mountain views throughout the round.

The course caters to golfers of all skill levels with four to six tee boxes on each hole, though the elevation and terrain present significant challenge for accomplished players. Notable characteristics include wildlife encounters with resident elk herds, deer, bobcats, and black bears, with a unique local rule allowing improved lies in elk tracks.

Rainmakers earned recognition as New Mexico's first Audubon International Signature Sanctuary course, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship alongside championship golf. In 2023, Golfweek Magazine ranked it the #1 Private Golf Course in New Mexico and #87 in America. The course exemplifies Robert Trent Jones II's design philosophy of protecting and enhancing natural landscape features while delivering a compelling competitive golfing experience.
