Designed by Beau Welling, the course is named after a turtle's nest, with each hole representing part of the history, landscape, or wildlife of the Captiva Island area. Each of the 12 distinct holes feature multiple routes of play to indulge players with diverse skillsets, with the average player spending 60-90 minutes on the course, with golf carts available for accessibility.
The walking-focused course overlooks the water for the majority of the course, and offers views of the surrounding landscape and ocean, including Pine Island Sound, Red Fish Pass, North Captiva and the Gulf of Mexico. The course is designed to engage players of all ages and skill levels, with the course design prioritizing precision, preferred angles of play and shot values. The 12 holes are named after area history, landscape and wildlife that can be viewed as golfers play, featuring holes such as "The Calusa," "Key Lime," and "Manatee." The Clutch is available exclusively to resort guests and Captiva Club members.
