Temple Golf Club is located in Hurley, Berkshire, approximately 2 miles northwest of Maidenhead. The course opened in 1910 and was designed by Willie Park Jr. Measuring 6,190 yards with a par of 70, the course is built on chalk downland and is free draining. The course comprises 5 par 3s, 10 par 4s, and 3 par 5s. It is situated on the edge of the Chiltern Hills and surrounded by beech woods.

From the opening tee, the Thames Valley spreads out with Marlow and the River Thames visible in the distance, with the chalk downland course less affected by adverse weather conditions than many others. Temple is a classic design by Willie Park Jr., a two-time Open Champion and one of the world's foremost golf course architects. One notable design feature is the five one-shot holes, three of which are of substantial length: the 8th at 230 yards, the 10th at 243 yards, and the 16th at 234 yards. In 1999, Temple won the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) Golf Environment Competition at the national level.
