Stourbridge Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course measuring 6,151 yards with a standard scratch score of 70 for men and 73 for ladies. Originally established in 1892 as a nine-hole layout on the old Pedmore Racecourse, it expanded to 18 holes in 1909. Built on sandy soil, the course offers excellent drainage and remains playable year-round without temporary greens.
The design features tree-lined fairways requiring strategic club selection, with hidden borrows on the greens adding complexity. The course contains 59 bunkers and presents both parkland and heathland characteristics. The signature 4th hole is a challenging par 4 (stroke index 1 for men) that doglegs left with bunkers guarding both sides of the fairway and the green approach. Notable par 3s include the demanding 12th hole at 201 yards, where anything short finds trouble. The closing 18th finishes in front of the clubhouse. The course provides a rigorous test for golfers of all levels, with careful positioning essential throughout.
