St Andrews Major Golf Club was established in 1993 and has acquired an excellent reputation of being both a friendly and accommodating golf club. The club is nestled in the Vale of Glamorgan countryside between Dinas Powys, Penarth and Barry. The course is a beautifully crafted and relatively flat, 18-hole parkland golf course. The course measures 5,500 yards and is made up of 1 par 5, 13 par 4s and 4 par 3s and provides a test for all standards of golfer. The fully established 18-hole layout is set in picturesque parkland, benefiting from natural features such as old oak trees and low undulating land that lends itself to an enjoyable rather than a physically exhausting round of golf. One of the outstanding features of the course is the excellent quality of the greens that hold up to play all year round, designed to US specifications with a composition of 70% sand and 30% soil which aids excellent drainage and ensures the greens stay firm.
