Spring Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Ed Carton that opened in 2006, featuring 7,035 yards from the longest tees with a par of 72. The course is located in Zion Crossroads, Virginia, immediately off Interstate 64, approximately 12 miles east of Charlottesville and 44 miles west of Richmond. The layout unfolds over peaceful rolling hills and woods beneath the mountains of Central Virginia.
The course design accommodates both higher-handicap golfers and tournament professionals, incorporating playability with the capability to host tournaments at varying difficulty levels. Bent grass fairways, beautiful greens, and the natural contour of the land characterize the course. Notable holes include the 197-yard par 3 5th hole, which features a downhill approach with bunkers flowing outside the putting surface and a forced carry over waste grass, and the finishing 561-yard par 5 18th hole, which is framed by water on the left and features a peninsula-like green wrapped by sand.
Spring Creek is a multi-award-winning course, ranked as a Top 100 American Public Golf Course by Golf Digest for 2021-2023. It was recognized as the number one ranked best new affordable course in the nation by Golf Digest in 2007 and also ranked in the top 25 by Golfweek for best new courses from 2005-2007. As of May 1st, 2024, the course became private.
