Spey Bay Golf Course is a true Scottish links situated on the Moray Coast near Fochabers, Scotland, at the mouth of the River Spey. Originally designed by legendary architect Ben Sayers in 1907, it is one of only 247 authentic links courses worldwide. The course features a stunning natural setting with coastal views and challenging terrain characteristic of traditional Scottish links golf.
The course is currently undergoing a major transformation by Clayton, DeVries, and Pont (CDP), three world-renowned architecture firms responsible for acclaimed courses including Cape Wickham Links and Barnbougle Dunes. The renovation will reconfigure the course into a fully reversible 18-hole championship layout with up to 22 greens and 5 different routing options, offering unique flexibility and variety. The redesign emphasizes the natural contours and links characteristics while maintaining the course's reversible nature. Located conveniently near Inverness and Aberdeen airports, Spey Bay serves as an ideal centerpiece for Scottish Highlands golfing trips, combining accessibility with the authentic links experience that defines Scotland's golf heritage.
