Southerndown Golf Club is a Welsh Championship downland/links course located in Ogmore by Sea, Bridgend. The course features a unique "limestone-heath" terrain created by a massive limestone outcrop rising over 70 metres from the sea, providing exceptional drainage and panoramic coastal views. The landscape combines acid-loving heathland vegetation including heather, bracken, and gorse with a springy, links-style character on the front eight holes, shaped by westerly winds and centuries of accumulated sand.

The course has been refined by renowned golf architects including Willie Fernie, Herbert Fowler, Willie Park, Harry Colt, and Donald Steel. This collaborative design evolution has resulted in a championship-calibre layout. Southerndown has hosted significant tournaments including the Martini and Piccadilly championships, and currently stages top amateur competitions, notably its own Duncan Putter championship. The course presents moderate to challenging difficulty through its natural terrain variations and the distinctive characteristics of its limestone-heathland-links setting.
