Solastranden Golfklubb operates an 18-hole course with a par 68, located in Sola, Rogaland, near Stavanger Airport and the Solastranden beach area. The course is built on sandy soil, a characteristic that allows it to remain open year-round and withstand significant rainfall. This construction makes it the most open course in Norway, offering a layout that changes character depending on the wind direction from the North Sea. The front nine holes feature a links-style design with open landscapes where wind often plays a significant role. In contrast, the back nine holes are more sheltered from the wind but demand precision in shot-making. The greens are notably small, requiring accurate approach shots and a stable short game to navigate the slopes effectively. Strategic bunkering is present throughout, with fairways offering the best lines into the greens. Due to its shorter length, measuring 4,892 meters from Tee 50 and 4,126 meters from Tee 42, the course allows players to complete 18 holes in a relatively short time. Despite its manageable distance, the combination of wind conditions and small targets presents a consistent challenge. The course holds a club record of 61 strokes, set by Marius A. Reiersen in 2025, and a ladies' record of 63 strokes by Erica Hessen Rygh in the same year.
