Silver Lake Golf Course (The Villages) ☆ Follow

Silver Lake is a 9-hole executive golf course that opened in 1987, located in the middle of Orange Blossom Gardens at The Villages. The course is par 29 and stretches to 1,613 yards from the back tees. The relatively level layout is unique in that it has no bunkers whatsoever on any of its nine holes, and features wall-to-wall fairways with only two short carries over water. The scenic course has a park-like appearance with dozens of large oaks ornamenting the layout.

Novices enjoy the course from the front tees, while more advanced players are challenged from the back tees. The course is popular and has undergone major improvements in 2000 and again in 2012. Notable features include hole #3, a 169-yard par three playing uphill that may require a driver depending on wind conditions, and hole #8, a par three framed by massive oaks that is both beautiful and intimidating.
