Sigtunabygdens Golfklubb was founded in 1961 as Sweden's 66th golf club, with course architect Nils Sköld engaged for its design. The 18-hole championship course took approximately 10 years to complete, with the clubhouse constructed subsequently. The club also features a 6-hole course designed for junior players and practice approach shots.

Located in Sigtuna, the course presents a challenging layout with strategic hazards throughout. The course includes notable features such as bunkers protecting greens and out-of-bounds areas that penalize wayward shots. One featured hole is described as a demanding par 4 with bunkers flanking both sides of the green, requiring accurate approach play for players of varying skill levels.

The club operates a restaurant, Bistro Hickory, positioned with commanding views overlooking the opening and closing holes. Additional facilities include a practice range and electric vehicle charging. The course accommodates tournament play, junior development programs, corporate outings, and various membership categories. The club maintains both competitive and recreational golf programs for players at all levels.
