Seto Golf is a 54-hole resort course located in Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture, situated directly on the Seto Inland Sea. The facility features two distinct 18-hole courses, the Out Course and the In Course, designed by Chubu Ginjiro and opened in May 2001. The layout is characterized by its dramatic elevation changes and strategic demands, with the Out Course offering a total yardage of 3,411 yards from the blue tees and the In Course extending to 3,411 yards as well, creating a combined par 72 resort experience. The course is defined by its coastal setting, where fairways run parallel to the sea, offering views of the Seto Inland archipelago. The terrain features a mix of downhill and uphill holes, with significant elevation changes that complicate club selection and approach shots. The design incorporates numerous bunkers, including grass and sand varieties, as well as water hazards such as a creek on the 3rd hole and an empty pond on the 12th. The greens are often multi-tiered or sloped, requiring precise distance control and careful pin placement awareness. The signature hole is the 5th hole on the In Course, a par 4 with a handicap of 1. This long mid-distance hole features fairway bunkers on both sides, demanding a precise tee shot to avoid trouble. The green is elongated and slopes from right to left, making approach shot accuracy critical. The course also features notable challenges such as the 15th hole, a par 3 that carries over a valley, and the 18th hole, which requires players to avoid out-of-bounds on the left side while navigating a sloping green. Seto Golf is positioned as a strategic test of golf, where the wind from the sea plays a significant role in shot selection. The resort offers a 8-lane driving range and a practice bunker area, catering to both serious golfers and those seeking a scenic resort experience. The course's design emphasizes accuracy over power, with many holes requiring thoughtful positioning rather than aggressive distance.
