Scepter Golf Club

Scepter Golf Club opened in 2005 as the newest course in Sun City Center, Florida. Designed by architect Chip Powell, the course features five sets of tee decks accommodating golfers of all skill levels. Water hazards are in play on most holes, combined with strategic bunkering that demands precision off the tee and on approach shots. The course is characterized by raised green sites with manicured roll-off collars and intriguing swales that require accuracy on both long and short shots. While fairways appear wide and forgiving, they slope toward ponds and lakes lining many landing areas, creating a challenging layout despite their appearance. The course winds through neighboring communities, blending natural habitat and wildlife with residential golf course homes. The design encourages creative thinking and strategic shot selection, making it a course worth playing multiple times to understand its nuances and score effectively. Powell built upon his success at Club Renaissance with a layout specifically designed as an ideal members' course.
