Scenic Knolls Golf Course is a nine-hole public course located two miles north of the Highway 26 and Highway 29 intersection in Mitchell, Nebraska. Designed by renowned architect Marty Johnson in the early 1990s, the course measures 3,261 yards from the amateur tees and 2,573 yards from the ladies tees, with a par of 36.
The course features large, undulating greens with few flat putts and rolling fairways suitable for all skill levels. Wide open bail-out areas accommodate beginners, while the terrain challenges experienced players. Thick rough, native areas, water hazards, and sand traps are distributed throughout the layout.
Notable features include a distinctive Nebraska state-shaped bunker on hole #7 and a double-dogleg par 5 on hole #6, one of the longest in Nebraska. The setting offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, including Scotts Bluff National Monument. An RV facility with electrical and water hookups is available on-site. The clubhouse includes the Fairway Restaurant, offering dining and catering services, along with a sand volleyball court for summer league play.
