Sanmu Green Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72 golf course located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The 990,000-square-meter (300,000 tsubo) property is a forest course set on hilly terrain. It opened on July 20, 1994, and was designed and supervised by renowned architects Koji Yasuda and Shiro Kawamura. The course features bent grass on all 18 greens and offers a total yardage of 6,756 yards from the back tees. The layout is characterized by strategic challenges that demand precision off the tee and careful approach shots. Several holes feature shallow out-of-bounds areas, particularly on the right side, requiring accurate driving. The course includes a mix of dogleg rights, such as the 537-yard 5th hole, and demanding par-4s like the 438-yard 8th hole, where the fairway is narrow and the green is protected by bunkers. The 14th hole is notably short at 282 yards from the regular tees, offering a scoring opportunity for long hitters. Signature holes include the 7th, a 167-yard par 3 that plays over a large pond to an island-style green, and the 18th, a 563-yard par 5 that presents a severe test for players attempting to reach in two. The 4th hole, a 383-yard par 4, features a three-tiered green that rewards players who attack from the front. The course also includes a 181-yard par 3 on the 16th, where the green slopes away from back to front, making approach shots challenging. Sanmu Green Country Club is located at 1552 Shizaki, Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture. The club provides a 70-yard driving range with 10 bays and accommodates soft spike shoes only. Access to the course is generally restricted to members and their guests, with reservations accepted three months in advance.
