Sand Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole championship facility located one mile south of Sunnyside Road near Ammon, Idaho, approximately seven miles north and three miles east of Shelley. Designed by William P. Bell and Son, the course was constructed beginning in 1972 with federal matching funds and officially dedicated on June 27, 1980.

The course features rolling sand dunes, abundant water hazards, and excellent soils creating a scenic layout. Originally designed to incorporate the large sand dunes, the course was redesigned during construction to reduce costs while maintaining championship quality. According to the USGA Green Section's Western Director in 1975, Sand Creek ranks among the potentially great golf courses in the west due to its natural terrain, water features, and accessibility to over 100,000 residents.

The facility includes an all-grass driving range, short game practice areas, and two practice putting greens. Sand Creek serves as a complement to the nearby Pinecrest Golf Course, addressing the demand for additional golfing opportunities in the Idaho Falls area. The course has maintained its status as a championship-caliber public facility since its opening.
