Red Carpet Golf Course opened in the summer of 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa, designed by renowned course architect Tom Bendelow, who also designed Medinah Country Club and Olympia Fields. Located one mile east of US Highway 63 on Newell Street, the course features 18 holes with a classic design that reflects early 20th-century golf architecture.

The layout presents varied challenges across its holes. Hole 1 offers an elevated tee with a wide fairway but requires precision to avoid trouble on the right. Hole 2 is a demanding par 3 with an elevated tee and typically windy conditions. Hole 3 is a tight, slightly uphill par 4 lined with trees on both sides, demanding accurate driving. Hole 4, the first par 5, presents birdie opportunities with a wide fairway and reachable green in two shots. Hole 5 features a slightly elevated green and challenging putting surfaces with multiple valleys.

The course has hosted notable golfers including Walter Hagen, an 11-time major winner, in 1933, and that same year, reigning U.S. and British Open champion Gene Sarazen. Red Carpet Golf has been privately owned since 1976 and remains a historic facility with traditional golf course amenities.
