Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo, located in San Sebastián de los Reyes just outside Madrid, features two distinct 18-hole golf courses designed by Robert von Hagge. Situated along the Carretera de Burgos, the club's golf facilities are complemented by a dedicated Par 3 course, a driving range, putting greens, and a short game area. The club, founded in 1901, caters to its 6,000 members with these extensive sporting amenities alongside its equestrian and other recreational facilities. The Campo Norte is characterized as a strategic, technical, and forgiving layout that rewards accurate play. Its holes feature narrow fairways lined with ancient trees, including a 500-year-old Sabina on the 16th. The course demands careful course management, with several holes where the pin position significantly alters the difficulty. The 18th hole, known as "el nido de águilas," stands as one of the club's most challenging finishes, playing uphill against the prevailing wind over 567 yards from the back tees. In contrast, the Campo Sur offers a more aggressive and demanding experience. Described as friendlier to local players but tougher for visitors, this layout features more undulating terrain, longer tee-to-green distances, and steeper slopes. The design requires precision off the tee and rewards those who can navigate its more abrupt topography. Both courses feature strategically placed bunkers, water hazards, and out-of-bounds areas that test players of all handicaps. The club has established itself as a competitive venue, hosting events such as the Social de Golf Premium Mahou-San Miguel by Gambito, which has seen record participation, and the Absoluto de España Masculino where members have achieved national-level success. The RSHECC also organizes the Match Copa Presidente and charitable tournaments like the I Torneo Solidario de Golf de la Fundación Aladina, maintaining its reputation as an active center for competitive and social golf in the Madrid region.
